We photographed a nautical themed wedding down at 50 Point lasts summer and it was certainly a highlight of ours. Everything about the details were spot on and I couldn’t be happier to have been apart of it.
We combined the rustic qualities of the present natural elements such as seashells, stones, driftwood and sand, with the ever popular bold looks of the nautical trend – rope, anchors, lanterns and buoys. We softened the look by adding touches of pearls and gold mercury glass and brought it all together using navy, gold and ivory as our colour palette.
Photographed at Fifty Point Marina in front a navy and white sailboat perfectly named “Enchantment”, where a romantic dinner for two was set upon a rustic picnic table. The table remained elegant by laying a burlap table runner and keeping dinnerware simple with white plates and clear glassware. Nautical touches such as rope intertwined between lanterns with seashells and candles, rope candle rings around navy and white napkins and a gold sailboat donning the custom made anchor table number, enhanced the overall look of the set up. And don’t forget the gorgeous flowers! All white dahlias, pure white ranunculus and grevillia completed the look.
Two bridal gowns were used during the shoot to portray two very different looks. The first was a soft ivory mermaid style dress with a matching belt and headpiece while the second sparkled with head to toe sequins and jewels. Matching jewellery completed both looks:
Instead of a traditional cake stand, we opted for a rustic style palette and softened the look with pearls, driftwood and sea shells.
