Smithville country weddingPIN

I think I’ve become a Smithville wedding photographer after photographing so many weddings there over the years.  I can now say that I can finally find my way around and I know ahead of time where my gps is going to lead me astray (anyone that lives in Smithville will know Google doesn’t know it’s way around there)

I’m ecstatic because country weddings are what we’ve always enjoyed photographing.  Weddings that are outdoors, intimate and sincere.  If I only photographed country weddings and rustic weddings in Muskoka, I would have my dreams fulfilled.  Months before Dalton & Kate’s wedding they emailed knowing that they had to have us photograph their wedding.  Thankfully we were available and immediately started planning.  Since they live in Alberta, we had quite a few Skype meetings over coffee and details.  I’m incredibly thankful to have photographed your wonderful wedding at your parents property in Smithville Dalton & Kate.  This is just a small collection of wedding photographs from their day.

Dalton spent years resorting the family truck with his father.  We jumped in it and took it for a drive down the old dirt road and photographed them in some country fields

B&W engagement portrait in port doverPIN

These engagement photos in Port Dover were of Dalton & Kate the day before their wedding.  It was peaceful on the beach at 8:30 in the morning.  A complete contrast to what I experienced the week before.  We had the beach to ourselves and roamed around the pier laughing and drinking coffee.

They live in Alberta but their wedding took place in Smithville so they only came into town a few days prior.  This isn’t our first engagement session that we’ve needed to photograph it the day before.  Many of our out of out of province clients only come in just a couple days before their wedding.  We did however have plenty of time to get to know each other over Skype and I was excited to finally meet them in person and get some great couple portrait of them together.  Coming up shortly is their country wedding but while you’re here, have a peek at some of our other engagement sessions or plan your trip to Port Dover if you’ve never been there.

We didn’t have sunshine and rainbows but we had plenty of smiles and laughs.  Bill & Allison’s wedding photos at the RBG are romantic & fun, they even were willing to play in the rain for some wedding photos which makes me happy.

Unfortunately, the wind was strong and practically blowing sideways so they were’t going to ask their guests to walk out to the rose garden tent.  Thankfully the Royal Botanical Gardens was prepared and was able to quickly set up for an indoor wedding ceremony in the grand ballroom. PINIndoor wedding ceremonyPINPINring exchangePINFirst kissPINJust marriedPIN

Immediately after their ceremony, we headed out to photograph their wedding party before photographing just the couple around the grounds.

The RBG has the indoor greenhouse.  It was the perfect backdrop, for their wedding photos and kept everyone dry.

I’ve had the pleasure of photographing this little girls newborn session and here we are one year later.  Everyday getting bigger and discovering all sorts of trouble.  Before we photograph a cake smash, we always spend some time photographing some adorable toddler portraits.  It’s not everyday that you turn one and cake smash photos aren’t the only photos you want to remember it by.  I absolutely love Jake’s smile, her laugh and all 10 of her little piggies that she loves to eat all, the, time.  Here are just a few of our favourite from her portrait session & cake smash.  Her newborn photos are kinda really freakin cute if I do say so myself so check those out too!
