It simply feels like yesterday that I was photographing Andrew and Alyssa’s outdoor country wedding but in fact it was last yea. I can however still remember all the details, laughs and tears we shared and I couldn’t be be happier for my friends. Their wedding photos were all taken at their families home which has a very country feel with old sheds, fields and fire pit for smores. I knew from the beginning and talking with them that their wedding was going to be the highlight of my summer. Everything about it was exactly how I would plan my own wedding – outdoors, intimate and fun.
When we arrived Andrew and the boys were still working on getting things decorated and in place. With a long list of things still to do, I stole him away to get dressed and insisted that the boys pickup where he left off. It’s also tricky when the groom and bride are getting ready in the same location and coordinating where everyone is so they don’t cross paths but everyone was on board and helping out every way they could.
Only a quick time with Andrew and we had Alyssa outside getting dressed with the help of her mom
Oh how I love first looks! It’s a really great opportunity to have a moment with your partner without all the guests around for you to share some time with one another. On the property we had this gorgeous willow tree that would be the backdrop for their first look and a series of images that I love.

With their guests in mind and their favorite things to play, they fabricated all the lawn games for everyone to enjoy before and after dinner

Did I mention that they had a fire pit and all the toppings you could ever want for smores! Yum!
I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, country weddings are the best.
