Lucas Shaughnessy made my wedding planning and wedding day easier and more magical than I ever thought possible. Lucas has a way of listening to your "vision" for your wedding and then taking this and making it come alive in artistic and unique photographs. With a very limited amount of time between the ceremony and reception, Lucas was able to capture each moment carefully and efficiently. His focussed flexibility created an environment that was relaxed and inviting to family and bridal party involved in the photographs. I am overly pleased with the variety of photographs that we have available to us including beautiful detail pictures of my handbag, my shoes, and my grandmother's teacups, among many others. These are components of the wedding that I chose carefully and now are captured in an artistic way forever.

Overall our experience with foto flare was nothing but positive. I would highly recommend foto flare's professional services to my closest friends and any bride alike. From the moment we met Lucas, we instantly clicked. He took the time to go through all the available options and was very flexible with customizing a package that suited our needs. We weren't able to find one other photographer who was willing to spend the whole day with us from 9am to midnight! My Newly wedded husband and I had the pleasure of having Lucas Photograph our late June wedding of this year. Words cannot explain how pleased we were with his work. From the moment we met Lucas at his studio with his masterpieces showering the walls and photo albums of unbelievable pictures flourishing across his desk. We knew we came to the right guy. His demeanor was all about listening to what we wanted and giving us everything he has to offer. At no point did we feel that we were being pressured or pushed by him to make a sale or decision right than and there. He took the time to understand who we were as individuals and how we became two lovebirds glowing and showing off to the world our passion for each other. He is a very talented and laid back kinda guy who has a love and an eye of capturing the beauty in everyone and everything. We couldn't be more happier with our decision to have him photograph our wedding. Despite the limited amount of time we had with him and the crappy overcast weather he managed to bring everything to light; and for that we couldn't imagine going to anybody else. Lucas went above and beyond with Courtney's graduation starting with the suggestion of her dress, meeting her months before the date and finding out who she is along with all her passions to make her last day of grade 8 memorable. Lucas was amazing! Right from the first time we met him, he was interested in not just capturing a picture but capturing us. He spent time asking questions to get to know us, our style, what we wanted and what we were comfortable with. He met with us again before our shoot to finalize the details. Because of that, we were able to spend more time on taking the actual pictures and not fiddling around with where to go and who is in what picture.

The actual shoot was a breeze! We did a two-hour shoot before our reception with our wedding party and family. Our family and friends were very comfortable throughout the photos, which made the photos look natural. When it came to the photos with just my husband, and myself Lucas' creativity and artistic nature was abundant. He directed us for shots that were not the typical traditional photographs. Lying in a field, standing in tall grass and beside (almost upside down) of a Chinese restaurant’s beautiful red wall were some of the places we went for the photos. These were places that we never would have thought but Lucas has a natural eye for artistic photos. We just absolutely loved the photos and couldn't ask for anything better. We will definitely use Lucas in the future and will be working with him again at an upcoming brother-in-law's wedding.

Of all the decisions that needed to be made for our wedding, the most difficult one for us was who was going to be our photographer. We were extremely nervous about making that decision because once the wonderful day is over; all we have left to show for it are the pictures. In my opinion, a photographer has to have similar points of view as the couple getting married because there are many different styles of pictures and if the couple does not have similar ideas about what they want for pictures as the photographer, then no one is going to have a good time and be satisfied with the final product. A friend referred us to Lucas at Foto Flare Photography. One of the great qualities Lucas possesses is that he is flexible with his times because my husband and I do shift work so sometimes it was very difficult to organize photo shoots. Lucas puts in 100% when he is on the job. He truly loves to take beautiful, creative shots of people and create memories that will last a lifetime. If I could show my wedding book that he has created for us, everyone would see what I’m talking about because the book tells our story. We decided against a videographer because our hope was that the photographer would tell the story better than a video and it did, predominately because of Lucas’ hard work and dedication to making us happy with the final product. Lucas was always punctual, courteous, and nice to all our guests including ourselves. The greatest gift that Lucas has is that he is able to catch moments that speak for themselves with his camera and that he knows how to put all his shots together to tell a beautiful, memorable story with creativity and originality. We made a very good decision by choosing Lucas at Foto Flare because we got exactly what we wanted: our special day told by pictures in a book that will last forever.
