Do you have an album of a complete wedding that I can view?
The online galleries and every printed album at the studio represent complete weddings. I rarely display collections of ‘best of' photos taken from multiple weddings since they do not showcase full wedding coverage.
Do you have backup equipment and is it the same quality as the primary equipment?
Of course. Any professional photographer will have 2 sometime 3 of everything they use. We take care of all of our equipment but even the best kept gear sometimes breaks down. That's why we have multiple camera bodies, lenses, flashes, memory cards, pocket wizards, portable hard drives, umbrellas, light stands, filters... . I could go on but you get the idea.
What is your payment policy?
No date is booked until a 25% retaining fee is paid. The 25% retaining fee is applied to your total balance. An additional 50% is due 90 days prior to your date and the remaining 25% is due 14 days prior to your date.
What is an E-session?
An E-session is an engagement session; we head out for some fun photos while getting to know each other's personalities. I'll be able to teach you how to casually pose for photographs and you will start to understand our direction so that everything runs smoothly on your wedding day. Another huge benefit is that the session will increase the confidence you have in yourselves as well as the confidence you have in me as your wedding photographer. Choosing a location for your e-session varies based on your lifestyle; you may choose to head where you got engaged or where you had your first date. You might want to have a swanky model shoot or do something completely different and we can discuss any possibilities. After the shoot, you can use the photos for an awesome guest signing book or even an enlargement with a signing mat.
Should we give you a list of shots we'd like for the wedding?
We typically ask for a 15 "Please don't forget photo list" for family portraits and any specific shots that you would like to try.
Do you take a limited amount of photographs?
No. Photographing an event should never be compromised with putting a limit on how many photographs are taken during a set amount of time. Our goal is to photograph all the details that you have spent endless hours preparing and finalizing. We also want to capture the candid moments throughout your day and to create spectacular memories that you will cherish for a lifetime.
What time will you begin the wedding coverage and how long will you stay?
Your coverage can start and end when you want it to. Only one wedding is booked per day so you have our undivided attention.
How are you going to be dressed?
I've actually only ever been asked this once but thought I'd include it anyway. Neutral is the best adjective to describe the way we dress. We don't want to be a distraction from your event and we definitely don't want to stand out.
How much time would you recommend for photos of the wedding party getting ready?
We'll typically spend about an hour with the guys and about 1½ hours with the girls. Additional time might be required depending on additional events that you would like covered and we can go over the details when we meet.
How much time do you need to photograph family portraits and the bridal party?
While every wedding is different and will very, we suggest setting aside 2 hours to photograph your families and bridal party. Some things that will affect the amount of time we will need are the size of the families and the number of photography locations. With more and more ceremonies happening later in the afternoon and dinners around 7, an alternative is to arrange for "first look" to occur several hours before the ceremony. This allows you to enjoy a moment together alone, before getting caught up in the whirlwind of the event. Your bridal portraits/formal photos can be taken right after and then everyone can relax, freshen up and arrive at the ceremony together.
Should we have seat for you at dinner?
If your coverage is continuing throughout your dinner hour, we would really appreciate a meal but is not a requirement. A seat near the head table/speech podium and against a wall (for gear) is preferable so as not to disturb the other guests. If a meal is not provided, we will need a break so please do not schedule any major events during this time such as speeches. Please let us know what you'd prefer at your final meeting with us.
Do you retouch the photos?
All the photos are retouched for colour, contrast and minor blemishes. Black and white and special effects are added to your collection using copies of the originals so you always have the colour copy.
What is an in-studio unveiling party?
Invite your family and close friends to view all your photos just a few weeks after your wedding. You'll see your photos on our 52" TV and receive discounts for on the spot ordering.
What is a private online gallery?
You will receive a private online gallery where all your photos can be viewed and purchased. Your guests and anyone else that wishes to view your gallery will need a password; the password will only be given to you, so share it with whomever you wish.
When will our photos be on the online gallery?
Your online gallery should be up within 4 weeks of your wedding. You'll be able to order prints as soon as they are on the gallery and send the password to view it to anyone you'd like to share the gallery with. Can't wait for the online gallery? Teaser photos are posted on the blog within a week so you'll be able to check them out, vote for your favorites and share them with your friends.
Do you do your own post production and printing?
Everything is done in-house. Using the most up-to-date editing software and the finest printing inks/paper, we can produce prints up to 24x36". Prints that are properly stored will last 200+ years. Come by the studio to see some magnificent prints that are displayed.
Do I get a DVD of the images?
YES. You get a DVD of all of your images in full resolution, unmarked and print ready. The DVD is the exact same as what we keep as an archived copy. That means if you were to ever need another copy, you can be assured we have you covered and another copy can be purchased. You will be able to take your DVD to your favorite print lab and print off as many as you want. For those that want a far superior print to Wal-Mart or Costco, we print right at our studio and would be happy to show you the difference between our printing and our competitors... the difference is clear and we are certain you will print with us.
What is a custom designed album?
Custom designed albums are printed layouts with multiple images on each page. Each page can be designed to show a single event, such as the garter toss, all on one page. We will work together to create an album that is as unique as you are and tells your wedding story with style and flair. Click here to view some of our past custom albums.
How do you choose what goes in the custom album?
Most couples leave it up to us to design the custom album because there is literally hundreds of photos and many don't know where to start. Some couples, after seeing their photos on the online gallery, give us a short "must-have list" to include in the album and leave the rest to us. There are also couples that want to be a part of the design from beginning to end and that's ok too! Only after you approve the final draft and sign off, we will start to print.
How long until we get our albums?
Most albums are ready within 4-6 weeks after choosing your enlargements or after the final draft sign off for custom designed albums. In very rare occasions, it can take up to 8 weeks because some of the albums are coming from Europe.
What do we do during a trash the dress session?
Face it, you're not going to wear the dress again so let's head out and love that dress again. We'll go out to some locations that we might not have been able to on your wedding and get more photos without worrying that it's going to get dirty; trust me, it's a ton of fun!
We have more questions. How do we contact you?
